Through mentorship, reflection, assessment, and practical application, EDGE Interns develop the career readiness competencies employers seek while making valuable contributions to campus departments and programs.
Position Description
The Converse College for Women Operations EDGE Intern serves as a key member of the CCW leadership team, supporting communications, community engagement, event execution, and operational initiatives that strengthen the living-learning community experience of the CCW. Working closely with the Director and Dean of the Converse College for Women, the intern contributes to programs and services that engage students, alumni, community partners, and cross-campus stakeholders.
This position provides hands-on experience in marketing, event management, community-building, communications, project coordination, and professional engagement while helping advance the mission of the Converse College for Women.

Key Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing
- Maintain CCW communications across social media platforms, ensuring consistent engagement with students, alumni, prospective students, and community partners.
- Design and manage promotional materials, event marketing, digital communications, and outreach campaigns that support CCW initiatives and increase awareness of programs and events.
- Support storytelling efforts that highlight CCW programs, student experiences, leadership opportunities, and community impact.
Community Engagement & Ambassador Activities
- Serve as a CCW ambassador by welcoming current students, community guests, alumni, prospective students, and corporate partners.
- Support outreach efforts that strengthen connections among CCW members and the broader Converse community.
- Assist with initiatives designed to increase student engagement and participation in CCW programs and events.
Event Planning & Operations
- Coordinate and execute key CCW events and programs in partnership with CCW leadership, including event preparation, attendance tracking, logistical support, and post-event assessment.
- Track student engagement and participation data to help evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities to increase involvement.
- Maintain event supplies, submit work orders, and support operational logistics associated with CCW programming.
Community Space Management
- Manage communication hubs, bulletin boards, and designated CCW community spaces to ensure students have access to timely resources, event information, safety messaging, and community updates.
- Monitor and maintain community spaces within the living-learning environment to support a welcoming and engaging student experience.
Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Contribute to projects focused on increasing social media engagement, expanding student participation, and strengthening outreach efforts across the Converse community.
- Assist with developing communication strategies and marketing initiatives that promote CCW programs and services.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
EDGE Interns gain hands-on experience in communications, event management, community engagement, marketing, project coordination, and student affairs programming.
Project opportunities may include social media campaigns, student engagement tracking, marketing initiatives, event planning, and community-building efforts designed to increase participation and awareness of CCW programs.

Qualifications
- Enrolled Converse University student in good academic standing.
- Sophomore, junior, or senior standing preferred.
- Experience using Canva or similar design platforms preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Initiative, professionalism, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with students, alumni, families, and community members.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Lifting and carrying materials.
- Participation in event setup and breakdown activities.
Supervision, Mentorship & Evaluation
EDGE Interns receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback throughout the academic year. Supervisors provide guidance on communications, event planning, community engagement, professional development, and workplace expectations.
As part of the Converse EDGE Internship Program, interns participate in a structured assessment process designed to measure growth in career readiness competencies and professional development.
