Position Description
The Valkyrie Supply Operations EDGE Intern serves as a key member of the Valkyrie Supply team, supporting daily operations, inventory management, educational programming, community outreach, and advocacy initiatives. The intern helps ensure that food and hygiene products remain available to students while contributing to efforts that increase awareness of collegiate food insecurity and promote student well-being.
This position provides hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, inventory management, community engagement, advocacy, event planning, donor relations, and program assessment. Through both operational responsibilities and project-based work, the intern develops transferable skills relevant to careers in nonprofit management, community outreach, social services, higher education, public policy, and related fields.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Inventory Management
- Manage daily stocking and inventory operations to ensure food and hygiene products remain available and accurately tracked.
- Maintain inventory records and compile program statistics used for reporting, assessment, and grant applications.
- Monitor operational needs and recommend improvements that support efficient program delivery.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
- Lead tours for campus visitors, alumni, community partners, and prospective donors.
- Represent Converse and Valkyrie Supply at advocacy events, educational programs, and community engagement opportunities.
- Build relationships with donors and stakeholders by communicating the mission and impact of Valkyrie Supply.
Educational Programming & Outreach
- Plan and implement campus-wide educational initiatives focused on collegiate food insecurity and student support resources.
- Collaborate with campus partners to increase awareness of available resources and reduce stigma surrounding food insecurity.
- Promote programs and initiatives through communication, outreach, and educational campaigns.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
Food Insecurity Awareness & Education Project
The intern will lead the planning and implementation of two campus-wide educational events focused on collegiate food insecurity. Responsibilities may include developing event proposals, securing resources, coordinating volunteers, collaborating with campus partners, promoting events, and assessing outcomes. Through this project, the student gains experience in program development, event management, advocacy, and community engagement.

Qualifications
- Enrolled Converse University student in good academic standing.
- Sophomore or junior standing preferred.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Supervision, Mentorship & Evaluation
EDGE Interns receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and project-based feedback throughout the academic year. Students receive guidance in nonprofit operations, community engagement, advocacy, event planning, stakeholder communication, and career readiness skill development.
As part of the Converse EDGE Internship Program, interns participate in a structured assessment process designed to measure growth in career readiness competencies and professional development.

- Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
- Schedule: Determined in coordination with the supervisor.
- Positions will remain open until filled. Hiring timelines vary by department, and some supervisors may move more quickly through the interview and selection process than others. Early application is encouraged.
